Austin uses alot of these ideas regarding timing and tempo. He puts himself in the best position to allow gravity to work to his benefit.Austin has also incorporated some features which he believes are physical laws which must be applied in the golf swing beyound what is given here.
Your foot should stay on the ground but lose pressure on the backswing which transfers to the rear leg, unless you like the Stacked philosphies of some golf swing designs, not just Stack and Tilt pressure remains left.

Don’t get concerned with the raising of the foot. Find out what works for you. Focus on his analogy of the playground swing, use the tempo count, and let your body do what it does. I think you will be surprised. This tip was the Holy Grail for me. Couldn’t tell you what my leg does either. Cooperate with gravity!!!!
