Great video-Really …
Great video-Really gives the golfer a good look at the impact area.I was guilty myself ,for too long of believing I had to uncock my wrists(Thank you Jim Flick) into this position,which resulted in great shots and poor one’s alike.

I love how animated you are with repeating swings as you’re explaining it. This is a very effective way for golfers to really “get it”. Good job!

in golf it is referred to as pronation and supination, which is the terminology Hogan used in his “Five Lessons.”

Thanks for the …
Thanks for the advice, it has made my iron ball striking a lot better, so much so that I hit a hole in one today!!!!! However, should this technique be taken to a driver swing? would this trap the ball too much creating too low of a ball flight, or because of the teeing of the ball off the left foot, will the trajectory still be high enough.
Cheers
First off, …
First off, supination and pronation deals with the roll of the forearms/wrists. Anyone who’s read Five Lessons knows that. But his lesson is good for handsy swingers or early release.
Hey MC! Great …
Hey MC! Great comment and yes I have seen it and it does have merit; get the feel for it and then forget it!

Thanks again from …
Thanks again from Argentina for your videos. I´ve seen another instructor that teaches that you don´t have to turn your wrist, but your elbow. If you turn your elbow, your wrist will turn without any effort. The video is called “The missing link to Ben Hogan´s Secret”. What do you think? Thanks a lot for your help.
Regards,
MC
You are on the …
You are on the right track; I often use the chipping technique to reinforce the impact position of the full swing;
Other videos of interest would be “Contact and Spin” and “Compress Through the Ball”…you will find all my videos on my “you tube Shawn” page of my website (all 100 plus!); I would also recommend my DVD which is a 3 dvd that has 4 hours of “In Priority” sequence for technique, Training, finding loose ends and executing on course; for just $40.00, I recommend it highly!

Hi,
So the way you …
Hi,
So the way you would pitch the ball is the same way you swing in full? I am a total beginner trying get better at this. I find when i hit chip or even low line drive shot to keep the ball low i make the best contact.
Yes, of course! …
Yes, of course! That was a classic!
The other video that will help here is the “Contact and spin” and the “Chicken Wing Across the line” videos…all on the “You Tube Shawn” page of my website…

Shawn,
Great videos …
Shawn,
Great videos! I have worked so hard on the wrist action that you speak of, many to overcome a terrible Push slice that has ruined my game. There are times when even practicing the chip shot you speak of that I push it way off to the right. It’s killing me. Do you have any comments on that? I have even tried training with Greg Norman’s “The Secret”, have you heard of it?
180 yards of carry …
180 yards of carry with a 6 is pretty darn good! but it really sounds like you hit a flyer and basically that means you had some grass between the clubface and the ball and denied the grooves the ability to put spin on the ball so you hit it further than you normally would… i only say that because of the 20 yards of roll. however clemshaw might have a differing opinion if so i hope he mentions it i would like to be corrected if im wrong.
Shawn, I can’t …
Shawn, I can’t thank you enough! I play off 7 but I had started slapping the ball. This video has helped me big time! Shame you are not based in England. Steve
Hiya Shawn, great …
Hiya Shawn, great video.
John Dunigan does a similar one – both excellent.
This is a vital tip for us mid-handicap golfers;
Just one thing: faulty impact doesn’t mean that we’re trying to help / scoop the ball, it just means we don’t know how to deliver the clubhead properly!
Great tip, thanks again!
