Jeff first off thanks for all your tips, Question,
what distance from your side should the right arm be on the one plane takeaway. From the front view. I seem to be to close to my side. Could you post a Vid. Thanks again.

    Jeff,

Are you here in AZ? I am considering a one plane swing as I want to simplify my swing as much as possible. I fight “toe shots” all the time, and it drives me nuts.

if u do that.. set up with ur heel of the clubh on the ball and it will come back and strike the middle.. btw hitting the toe is not clasified as hitting the ball solidly

    I’m constantly …
I’m constantly working on tempo. Use to just “jump on it” and try to hit it long, but that was not helping my handicap. Now I’ve given up 20 yards off the tee and at least 1 club with my irons and am hitting the ball much more solidly. But…why do I hit my shots on the toe 90% of the time?

    Jeff, can I see …
Jeff, can I see your driver swing video at front angle? My friend look at my Driver swing and he is pointing out my head should be moved back, so my left eye should look at the ball behind. I look at your iron swing and notice that it is not true. Is iron and driver swing should be different? In fact, sometimes I do out-in swing when hit the ball, so my right shoulder comes first.

    One plane in my …
One plane in my opinion is based more on arm swing and shoulder tilt. The flatter arm swing, then creates the necessity to stay more on your left side as you swing. Stack and tilt “seems” to be based more on creating a steeper body lean that then requires a flatter arm swing. Both are similar. I do not come from a stack and tilt information base, but this is my opinion as I see it. The S and T guys may explain differently.

  • juicyfruitzy:

    Jeff, what are you …
Jeff, what are you thoughts on stack and tilt?
It doesn’t seem like you are using it. I like the idea of striking the ball through one plane. But I hear stack and tilt is a more efficient way to do it. Please ellaborate.

    Thanks, xoxo

Jeff, it has been a long year as I have transitioned to one plane. I see the light at end of tunnel…. I have noticed that when I consciously think of turning my left hip hard left on downswing I hit the ball pure. However, I have always had a lateral slide and when then comes in a thin it or worse shank it. Any thoughts on my hip swing thought?

    Good question. …
Good question. Address and impact are different with the hands being more neutral at address and more forward at impact. This address position in my swing is a little exagerated due a previous problem i had of whipping the clubhead inside during the takeaway. Since my takaway has been fixed, I have decided to just leave well enough alone. In general though I would prefer to be a little more neutral. Thanks for the question.

    Hi Jeff,
Great videos but i have a ? I seem to be hooking the ball to much with your method, i am wondering if i need flatter lie angle for this one plane method ?

  • jritter5:

    Thanks Alex,

    Thanks Alex,

Actually, if you look closely you can see my weight roll a little to the outside of my foot where the ball of my left foot is slightly off the turf. In my opinion, it’s impossible to hit hard and not have some type roll to the foot. Thanks for you question.

    Jeff

  • alexnatividadmd:

Jeff, at the end of …
Jeff, at the end of your follow trough, it appears that your weigh is at the center of your left foot versus the often recommended “outside of left foot or rollovered to the outside of the left foot? is that correct. YOUR SWING TEMPO,AND BIOMECHANICAL RHTYHM IS THE BEST THERE IS..I WACTH YORU VIDE B4 I GO TO SLEEP. Hope to see you this summer for a lesson, thanks

    happy new year! I …
happy new year! I found your videos about 3 weeks ago. I was previously swinging inconsistently on 2 planes. I altered my posture and worked on getting the club to be 90 degrees to my spine. Trying the new swing on the course after a bit of practice at the range brought immediately amazing results in my ball striking. My driver trajectory is now much more consistent. Still have much to work on, but the material you have posted gives me clear direction.

Thanks! Found your other videos and you do a great job explaining.I will use your hula hoop drill to help. I will be in Phoenix in Feb and March and want to get a lesson with you. How can I contact you?

  • jritter5:

    Sh#$8ing, is a …
Sh#$8ing, is a result of a) being too flat or b)having poor measurement to the ball. A one-plane motion has a fairly flat arm swing, but make sure the shoulders offset this with a steeper tilt. If this looks ok, practice the “Heel to Toe” drill. Intentionally set the ball off the hosel at address, then feel your arms pinned snug to your body at impact as if to try and make contact off of the toe of the club. This will ensure that your arms are not “running away” from your body at impact.

    Jeff. Awesome swing …
Jeff. Awesome swing. I want it! I ‘converted’to one plane after lessons and read both of Hardy’s books BUT when I am not hitting the ball pure (50% of the time)I sh*&k and thin it, actually Sh#$*ing alot now (can’t even spell out the word for fear of infecting others). Any advice? Help….
