    I had a very …
    I had a very important tee shot on Sunday. I was at a par 5 where if I hit it pure I could cut the corner over some bunkers and go for it in two on a 550 yard par 5.

    RIght before I went to hit it I felt my pulse racing. So I stepped away and decided to hit it one legged. I hit it great and then put my approach shot in a green side bunker.

    But the point is that every time on the driving range I feel like I am red lining my driver swing I fall back to this drill to get my rhythm back.

    Hey Shawn It …
    Hey Shawn It appears to me that your hips are clearing at impact, but since your hips are a little closed at address is it safe to say they do not clear at impact as much as they normally do? Would this be a good drill for someone that has trouble clearing the hips at impact? Or since this drill teachings you not to say, would it be the perfect drill to teach someone to clear the hips?
    Thank you

    Hey Shawn,
    I saw this drill on your dvd and and it really showed me how it feels to swing into the front leg. I feel like I can strike the ball solidly all day long, but when I go back to two legs I can’t find the same feeling. Please help

    Hey Shawn.

    Earlier …
    Hey Shawn.

    Earlier today, I played 9 holes with my new golf clubs and only got 10 point. When I came home, I was really frustrated, but then I watched a couple of your videos and went over to the golf course, and played 9 holes again, but this time I got 23 point :)

    When im hitting my 4 iron, I almost never get the ball up in the air, but today, I hit the ball far and straight…

    Thanks Shawn

    I love this drill. …
    I love this drill. I always had a big problem with my hips sliding and this drill finally solved it. Funny thing was that I knew about it when I got your DVD’s almost 2 years ago but never gave it a shot. I tried it recently and I finally understood what it was like to rotate around my front leg. Thanks so much!

    On your 2 ball …
    On your 2 ball drill there Shawn it seems to be teaching the golferto stay down through the shot, and to not like chicken wing, like to not let the clubhead pass the hands, the 12- 13 inch behind drill teaches you to correctly bring the club abruptly up and with a downward blow like all good Pro’s do, our body senses tell us this is too steep, it really does help you hit crips shots, because your eliminating the ground as a problem.

    Thanks ! See “golf pro lesson through the ball”; you will see in minute 6 my 2 ball drill where you hit both in the air with the same swing; Shawn

    Nicely done Shawn, …
    Nicely done Shawn, AJ Bonar proved the same thing, we are all ruled by two things Weight Shift, Square Clubface, both of these have proved to be nonsense, to me what is easier, trying to time the hitting of a golf ball with hands and arms and a tool, or trying to shift the exact same amount of weight everytime?, the best drill is to place a golf ball behind the one your hitting about 13 inches, it forces you to hit with a downward blow.

    Hey Ray;
    Sometimes …

    Hey Ray;
    Sometimes it is just a matter of reinforcing the “Home Base” of the swing which is the finish position; see “golf pro lesson finish position” and make this your practice for the next week; great question! Shawn

    Shawn,
    I thought …

    Shawn,
    I thought this might be the best place to ask this question. when hitting my driver I frequently lose balance (even if the shot is fairly good). I either find myself falling back to the right leg, or more often, falling back off me heels. I’ve been watching a reading alot of your teaching and can’t figure out what “compensation” I am making that is causing this. Please tell me.

    Now that you are …
    Now that you are more centered, you just need to work on width in the swing in both the backswing and downswing; see the “golf pro lesson timing and tempo update” video for this;

    thanks for this. …
    thanks for this. although I didnt actually swing off one leg I used the idea of putting more weight on my left and this let me pull my right hip back more.
    That forced me to clear my hips on the downswing and i was making terrific contact and getting great ball flight at the range today. i wasnt hitting them fat like i tend to do, but im still putting too much draw on the ball. with a 6 iron i push it out right about 20 yards and then it floats back to the dead center. thanks for the tips!

    In alot of golf …
    In alot of golf instruction there is a tendancy to recommend a wide stance.This is death to the beginner or intermediate.If you don’t want to use one leg on the course narrow up your stance and your hips and legs will react much more naturally to the swinging of the club.then widen your stance as you become better or don’t.Bobby Jones played w a narrow stance.

    Golf is many things …
    Golf is many things for many people; one major thing on people’s minds is the way they look on the golf course; they don’t want to be a target for criticism; others don’t care and I have many students that continue to have success with this drill as they always have it as a back-up when things get a bit too loose; it is great to have options! Thanks for your comment and question! Shawn
