Golf swing speed is a crucial factor in an improving golf game..because what happens all golfers when they are on the brink of a real breakthrough round or victory is that they make a couple of silly mistakes and mess up their scorecard and their chances of victory.
And invariably these mistakes are uncharacteristic which is the most frustrating parts of the whole thing.

Do not worry about this because every golfer, regardless of ability, experiences this in their golfing career. The main reason for this comes back to your swing speed, which quickens up through the rush of adrenaline that you experience when in sight of victory.

Working for the entire day on the green, calculating carefully and then making the strokes may seem very easy on T.V, but it is really very painstaking.

Just having a few secret tips on your fingers will never make you an ace golfer. These tips are not magical, but they are surely the guidelines that you need to follow while you are practicing so as to make your mark. These tips are given below:

? You will have to know what your right spot of putter is in order to hit great putts. You can do this by just hanging and swinging your putter from your hand. Keep your fingers loose, and with the other hand, take the ball while you start tapping your shoe with the putter. Then work your way to the centre. Only when you hit the ball, the face of the putter does not twist, will you know that this is the right spot of the putter for you.

? The next best putting tip is building a stable base and taking the right stance. A lot of golfers do not make the best putting shots because they have a problem at the roots: posture. In order to build the right base, you have to take the putting stance at the doorway, with your hips touching the door jam. When you take your stroke, your hips should move away from the door jam. This way you will have less movement in your lower part of the body, which should always be the case. This is a very good technique, and to follow it, you can practice it anywhere, be it in your office when your secretary will not intervene, or in your home when you are alone in your room.

? Another thing you can do instead of standing in the doorway is to get close to a wall. You should not be touching it, so when you are making your swing, your hips must not brush against the wall at all. Your head should be straight too, and you must not break this posture. If your head rocks, this means you are not doing it right and you can start all over again.

? There is no need to use the expensive training aids. These tips are very inexpensive, and you can follow them anytime anywhere. Use a flat three foot putt when you are practicing. Line the strips on the range balls so as to maintain a straight lien as you putt them to the hole. The line must not widen up or curve in when you are putting. If it does, this means that you are not dong it right. While putting, the line has got be straight and nothing else.

These methods will put your right on the top spot while you make your impressive shots on the green and then get applauded by the watching audience!

Many newer golfers (and a few older ones, too) have a tendency to misalign themselves when they take their stance. Normally, what they will do is aim way right of the target and they do this for a reason. Players who are misaligned from the get go and aim right are usually players who try to swing with their arms. When they do this the ball will almost always take off to the left. So what they are doing with this “right side” target trick is trying to fix a problem before it even happens!

In theory, this shouldn’t be a problem…but this is not theory, it’s golf. When an “arm swinger” forces his ball back on the fairway by overcompensating his alignment, he thinks he’s doing himself a favor. But on those occasions when he actually makes a good, solid full body swing, his ball zips off into the trees on the right or into a right side bunker and he gets mad, and what’s worse is that by using this misaligning method he’s never going to reach his full potential as a golfer.

These players need to work on the basics of their swing, using their body as a whole and not just their arms. But they also need to know what their alignment is.

So how can you (or anyone else for that matter) see what your alignment is to the target?

Well, here’s a simple and very effective tip to determine what your target alignment really is.

Take a stance (your usual stance), aim at a target that you would hit at, and then lay a club down on the ground from toe to toe. Now step back about 8 or 10 paces behind the ball and club that you laid down and sight down the club. Sighting down this club will reveal your alignment.

If the club is a bit left of the target, then you’re fine. But if it’s to the right of the target, you are out of alingment. Simple but effective.

If you discover that you are out of alignment (that the club on the ground is pointing to the right of the target) then you need to work on squaring up your stance.

Being square to the target is one of the most important tips in golf. Every ball you hit will be effected by this stance–either in a good way or (if you’re in a misaligned stance) a bad way. It really is that simple.

Now when you are certain that you are in a square stance, hit a few balls. If the ball goes way left of the target, you know you are pulling it by trying to use too much of your arms. If the ball goes way right, you know you are allowing your body to slide too much through impact.

By being in a square stance and evaluating a few practice shots, you can determine a lot about your swing and those areas that you need to work on.

12. The follow through of a chip shot should have the same length as your back swing, as mentioned before, like a pendulum clock. A short back swing causes short distance chipping, a long one a longer traject. 

13. The golf club lifts the ball up in the air. Practice a lot, and you can make a perfect chip shot on the fairway within a reasonable distance to the pin. 

14. And: Don’t look up to early! I think that’s my most important tip for chip shot golf.

Tip #1:  Find Your Natural Swing

Many lefties can successfully play golf right-handed and feel perfectly natural doing so since they are leading with their left side, left eye and pushing the ball to the left.  The key to choosing which side works best for you depends solely upon your natural swing.  Deciding whether your natural inclination is to swing from the left or from the right is imperative for lefties.

Tip #2: Get the Proper Equipment

Tips No. 4, 5, 6 : Grip, posture and stance. The three essentials of golf. Grip means how you hold the club and the better you grip the better you play. Posture leads to a proper swing and maintaining balance is essential. Having a stable golf stance and footing will help you control the ball and get it where you want it to go.
